Queer Body and Mind group sessions are a free group-therapy program for LGBT+ individuals in Aarhus.
Many LGBT+ individuals experience stress from being a minority, which can easily lead to other challenges - trouble sleeping, discomfortness, stress, anxiety, bodily anxiety, swarms of thoughts and much more. This program seeks to highlight the resources that are available for LGBT+ individuals.
We will work with grounding, self-confidence, self-narratives, thought patterns, self worth and the handling of stress. We do this through psychomotor therapy methods, and the program is therefore a mixture of bodily exercises, reflections, and knowledge about nervous systems and minority stress. The exercises are not bodily exhausting, and the physical abilities and limitations of the participants will be taken into consideration.
Furthermore, the program is performed in groups, so there will be rich opportunity to share your own experiences and hear the perspectives and experiences of others. This is an opportunity to meet new people and participate in a community.
The program takes place in LGBT+HUSET's quarters at Skolebakken 5, 8000 Aarhus C. It is accesible for most wheelchairs - you are welcome to contact us for more information about accesability.
